Odong Recipe for Sardines Lovers

Odong using Sardines
In our province, Tacloban City, my aunties always make amazing leftover meals such as this Udong recipe using sardines we have at our home. Odong is basically flour noodles, fairly similar to the ingredients used to make instant noodles, but tastier.

Here are the ingredients you need:
  • 3 oz Odong Noodles
  • Leftover Fish
  • 1 cp Sliced Bottle Gourd (upo)
  • 1 cp Water
  • 3 cloves Crushed Garlic
  • 1 small Sliced Onion
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 3 cans Sardine with Tomato Sauce (5.5 oz)
The procedures are simple. First, you heat  oil in the pot and then saute garlic and onions until they are soft. We then put the bottle gourd and cook it for a minute, then add the sardines and water and wait them to boil. Now, put the noodles for 5 to 8 minute or until the noodles are ready. After it's done, put salt and pepper to taste. Ta-dah! Your Odong recipe is now ready, just eat it with rice  to enjoy it.
This is an effortless meal everybody can make at home if you have stock Odong noodles. You can substitute sardines with some leftover fish as long as you have tomato sauce so it can match the recipe. As long as it is hot, this meal is delicious for you to savor it.
